About Me

Since teenage years I have enjoyed using my imagination by experimenting with musical composition.

Having two orchestral compositions recorded by the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra in 2016 was one of my proudest achievements, and having a piece premiered and the London New Wind Festival 2022 was another big moment.

Since 2011, I have played alto saxophone and completed an ARSM performance only diploma in 2020. I now mostly play tenor sax, and enjoy performing with the AD Concert Band and the Jones Jazz Orchestra.

In the past I played violin, and played with the South Birmingham Sinfonia between 2004 and 2008.

Another exciting musical experience was attending Dartington International Summer School which I have visited several times, playing in various orchestras, chamber music groups and a large jazz ensemble. I enjoyed meeting many fine musicians at Dartington, and was also introduced to a lot of interesting and previously unfamiliar repertoire.

I’ve studied one music module “Musicians at work – From Composition to Performance” with the Open University, as part of an ‘open degree’.

After retiring from my IT career, I now have the time and energy to fully pursue my musical interests.
