About Me

Having two of my orchestral compositions recorded by the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra in 2016 was one of my proudest achievements.

Since 2011, I have played alto saxophone and completed an ARSM diploma in 2020. I enjoy performing with the AD Concert Band and the Coventry Saxophone Ensemble, and also have an interest in composing new repertoire for saxophone in a variety of genres.

I played violin in the South Birmingham Sinfonia between 2004 and 2008, which was a big part of my musical education particularly for orchestral technique.

Another exciting musical experience has been attending Dartington International Summer School which I have visited several times, playing in various orchestras, chamber music groups and a large jazz ensemble. I enjoyed meeting many fine musicians at Dartington, and was also introduced to a lot of interesting and previously unfamiliar repertoire.

I’ve studied one module ‘Musicians at work – From Composition to Performance’ with the Open University, as part of an ‘open degree’.

After retiring from my IT career in 2016, I now have the time and energy to fully pursue my musical interests.

I am a member of the Guild of International Songwriters and Composers, the Clarinet and Saxophone Society of Great Britain and the Elgar Society.
